Mt. Adams Fire Pictures

On my way into work this afternoon, I took a few minutes and snapped these photos from my favorite storm chase spot in the West Hills of Portland. At last update, the fire was at 30 acres. Mark Nelsen (KPTV Chief Met) is reporting on his blog that people are hearing explosions at the trail head where climbers park their cars. Welcome to fire season in the NW.

TWC has been purchased

Multiple media outlets are reporting that NBC Universal has agreed to purchase Atlanta, Georgia based "The Weather Channel" for 3.5 billion dollars. The purchase includes The Weather Channel's TV network, website "weather.com", W.S.I. (makers of TV Weather graphics computers), a weather radar company, and the portion of Canada's Weather Channel that TWC owns.
